ICART (Institut Supérieur des Carrières Artistiques), Artistic Careers Higher Education Institution, was founded by Denis Huisman in 1963. Its purpose is to train professionals in the business of art and in cultural mediation. Our establishment is recognized by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
ICART is for young people who dream of working in artistic or cultural fields. Its powerful network of former students and its teaching which includes for the whole study term both practical and theoretical training make it the best of springboards to enter into the practice of a dynamic and meaningful profession.
Running a gallery, organizing concerts or exhibitions, auction sales, promoting an artist or a show, developing the patrimony of a community or a region, directing a cultural association…these are a few of the many professions one can prepare for with ICART.
Teachers who are themselves directly involved in the art market and cultural mediation, partnerships with a great number of companies and cultural institutions in France and abroad, and a particular focus on new technologies, market evolutions, and cultural politics make ICART the best answer to the needs of a constantly growing and developing field.
ICART is the only full-time school where upon completing the whole educational course, one is granted the title of Merchant of Art and Cultural mediator, APPROVED BY THE STATE
